Where this came from
This started at East Forsyth High School in Forsyth County, Georgia, where my son plays football and lacrosse. Like most parents, I went looking for a way to keep track of a season and to put together something a college coach might actually open — and found that the options were a spreadsheet, a PDF, or a platform that wanted a subscription for something I could build.
So I built it. LaxScore came first, a live scoring app for the varsity lacrosse team that parents in the stands could follow from a phone. Then a recruiting page. Then, this season, a site tracking the whole football region. Everything on this domain runs on our own server, and the code that runs our school's sites is the same code available to anyone who wants it.
Why football and lacrosse
Because those are the two we live in, and depth beats breadth. A lacrosse recruiting calendar is not a football recruiting calendar — they are governed by different bylaws, they changed in different directions this year, and guidance that averages the two is guidance that is wrong for both. We would rather be genuinely useful on two sports than vague on eight.
The tools work for any sport. The writing is about football and lacrosse.
How the guides are written
Recruiting advice online has a specific failure mode: it gets written once, ranks well, and is never updated when the rule changes. We found university compliance offices publishing football contact dates that were five years stale, and recruiting sites confidently repeating a lacrosse date that had been superseded two months earlier.
So every guide here follows the same rules:
- Primary sources. Rules come from the NCAA's own bylaw database or GHSA's own by-laws, not from a summary of a summary.
- Everything is dated. If you are reading this in two years, you should be able to tell.
- We say when we are unsure. Where sources conflict or a rule is ambiguous, the guide says so rather than picking whichever answer sounds cleanest.
- Sources are listed. At the bottom of every guide, with links, so you can check us.
What we are not
We are not a recruiting service. We do not contact coaches on anyone's behalf, we do not sell placement, and we have no relationship with any college programme. We are not a compliance authority — for anything that affects eligibility, talk to the college's compliance office or your athletic director.
We are also not affiliated with East Forsyth High School, Forsyth County Schools or the GHSA. The team sites here are parent-run.
What is on the site
- Guides — recruiting rules, highlight film, and how Georgia's playoff system works.
- LaxScore — live lacrosse scoring for East Forsyth varsity.
- Region 8-5A — football standings, scores and schedule for the Broncos' region.
- Athlete profile — a sample recruiting page, the format we suggest for getting film, transcript and measurables behind one link.
If something here is wrong, tell us. Corrections get made and dated.
